Root Down Festival Line-up At Old Royal Adelaide Hospital

Luke Million will headline Root Down Festival
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Electro funk purveyor, Luke Million, will headline the second Root Down Festival later this month.

He will be joined by artists including [the returning] Willow Beats, Timberwolf and Abbey Howlett at the first music event at the old Royal Adelaide Hospital – and the second incarnation of the event which which debuted in 2016 as part of Umbrella Festival.

The alt-indie, roots, hip-hop and experimental electronic artists will bring a lively, dual-stage festival to one of Adelaide's new event spaces.

Promoter, Steve Pitkin, said, “the line-up has obvious undertones of an electronic/live crossover... this is about the link between live instrumentation and creativity in collaboration and how today’s roots are taking an electronic shape.

“This is more than just a music festival, it’s a demonstration of culture. The venue was a hard pitch for a music festival like Root Down but I think it’s a great way to activate the space, setting up an exciting future for the creative industries to get involved in this space.”

There'll also be market stalls, breakdancing, exhibitions and food trucks.
