Riley Catherall 2021 Australia Tour

Riley Catherall's debut album is titled 'When I Go'.

Ahead of the release of his debut album, 'When I Go', later this month, Americana singer-songwriter Riley Catherall will embark on an 18-date tour of major capitals and regional centres (he's even doing a couple of house concerts) starting next month.

With 'When I Go' due to land 23 July, Riley has also offered another taste of the record with newest single 'Mother Please'.

A song written for his mum looking back at his 18-year-old self and the adventures teenagers get up to when the independence of a driver's licence arrives, it's a beautiful ballad brimming with the kind of love family evokes.

"When I turned 18 and got my licence, I would always be out playing shows and driving around doing whatever it is 18-year-olds do," Riley says.

"In turn, I'd always come home late at night and Mum would be waiting up for me to make sure I got home safe.

"Now that I am in Melbourne, I am no longer coming home every night, so this was a song for my Mum to say 'you don't need to wait up for me anymore, but please don't forget about me'."

Fresh from a co-headline tour with another rising star of Australia's alternative country scene, Golden Guitar nominee Gretta Ziller, Catherall will be on the road from August through to September starting off at the Americana Festival in Wangaratta.

Alongside concerts in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane, Riley will also visit places like Wagga Wagga, Bathurst, Dubbo, Bundaberg and Toowoomba.
