Two years since her last single, pop star and 'Australia's Got Talent' host Ricki-Lee is back with the upbeat, gorgeous slice of bubbly dance-pop 'Last Night'.
An instant dance-floor banger, Ricki-Lee wrote and produced 'Last Night' with fellow Australian DJ-producer Throttle ('Tell Me You Love Me') after the pair crossed paths when they were working in the same studio."I've been listening to Throttle's music basically every day for years," Ricki-Lee says, "so to work with him was awesome.
"He's just got such a fresh approach to making music, and it's very similar to mine. . . we just wanna make music that makes people feel good."
After a national tour last year, the multi-platinum selling and ARIA-nominated singer-songwriter says she's gone back to her musical roots on 'Last Night'. "When I toured last year, it reminded me how much my fans love me for uplifting, feel-good music they can dance to!
"I played the State Theatre in Sydney, which is usually filled with quite a conservative crowd, but after the show they told me they had never seen a crowd jumping up and down, and singing like that; and it made me realise I've gotta give the fans what they want, what they love!"
