Regional Queensland music festival, Rhythm and the Reef have unveiled their biggest line-up yet as the Mackay one-day event celebrates its 5th anniversary.
Set to headline the 2025 instalment (23 August) is Australian pop-rock darling Amy Shark, the eight-time ARIA Award winner and Australian Idol judge (2023, 2024) pumped to head north. According to Amy, she "can't wait to come back to Mackay for this great festival! I've been following it for a couple of years and am excited to get the chance to headline it."
While Amy is clearly the headline act, Rhythm And The Reef have also booked a stellar bill of Aussie acts with impeccable pedigree including electronic OGs The Presets, indie charmers The Jungle Giants, everyone's favourite surf-rock grunge lads Hockey Dad and hip hop star 360.
The remainder of the line-up features indie rock singer-songwriter Ruby Fields and Samoan-Australian hip hop, drill collective No Money Enterprise, alongside a selection of local acts including Same Pains, Giant Palms, Math and Happenings Co. While the all-ages festival will kick off the night prior with an 18+ pre-party headlined by Boo Seeka.
Co-Event Organiser Michael Delaney says this year's line-up "is setting the tone for the event for years to come. We see a shift in national artists wanting to perform at the event, which is great news for the region as Mackay is typically left of the touring runs. This has also sparked interest in international artists – which we are so excited for!"
Adds The Presets: "QLD!! We're bringing our LIVE show up to Mackay for Rhythm And The Reef Festival." While The Jungle Giants are predicting a sweat-storm: "Mackay we're coming for ya in August! Let's get sweaty!"
Those who sign up for the ticket wait list will have an opportunity to win a festival experience you can usually only dream about. "If you head to our website home page and sign up to the pre-sale wait list, then you're in for the chance to win money-can't-buy experience from the festival weekend," Co-Event Organiser James Slade says.
The winner will receive a host of goodies including 2x platinum passes, side stage & backstage access, meet & greet with your favourite artist, merch packs, 2x nights at Lanai Apartments and return flights (anywhere in Queensland). Bonkers, right?!
Tickets go on sale from 4pm on 29 May, but sign up for the pre-sale comp, "which no one will want to miss," enthuses James.
Rhythm And The Reef takes place at Meadowlands Amphitheatre (Mackay) on 23 August.
