Uplifting singer-songwriter Rex Orange County will grace Australia with his presence for the ‘Who Cares’ Tour later this year.
Hitting Aussie soil in September, this tour marks the first time Rex Orange County has been down under in more than three years. The news comes ahead of the release of his upcoming album ‘Who Cares?’ out 11 March.
Alongside the album announcement was the lead single and video – ‘Keep It Up’ – seeing Rex dance his way through Amsterdam, performing the track alongside musician Benny Sings. Rex created ‘Who Cares?’ With Benny over the course of a few sessions, in Benny’s Amsterdam studio.
‘Who Cares?’ will be Rex’s first release since the 2020 EP ‘Live At Radio City Music Hall’, which was recorded just before his international ‘Pony’ tour was cut short as a result of COVID-19. Turns out this was somewhat fortuitous, and formed the genesis of the new album. Rex spent a majority of his time quarantined but eventually made his way to Amsterdam to record with Benny Sings.
A 48-hour recording window with Benny followed by 10 days of intense work later, and ‘Who Cares?’ was born. The album also sees Rex reuniting with one of his earliest champions, Tyler The Creator, who contributes a verse to ‘Open A Window’.
If you’re keen to catch this vibrant crooner in action, in the flesh, now’s the time Australia.
Tickets are on sale 11am local time on 11 March.
