Under the glow of crimson stage lights, Telenova delivered an enthralling performance at Melbourne's Northcote Theatre, weaving their signature blend of dreamy pop, R&B, and electronic influences into a night of pure magic.
The sold-out crowd (29 March) was utterly captivated, drawn into the band's hypnotic world from the moment they stepped onstage. At the heart of it all was frontwoman Angeline Armstrong, whose haunting vocals sent shivers through the venue. In one particularly breathtaking moment, her voice echoed into a hushed stillness, suspending the audience in collective awe before the next wave of music crashed over them. It was a rare and powerful silence – one that spoke volumes about the spellbinding nature of Telenova's artistry.

Musically, Telenova continues to carve out their own space in the alternative scene, seamlessly fusing nostalgic 2000s influences with a modern edge. Their set list showcased the best of their evolving sound, with lush instrumentation, driving bass lines, and intricate lyrics that struck the perfect balance between atmospheric and infectious.
Drawing comparisons to Wolf Alice, the band crafts a sonic landscape that feels both familiar and refreshingly original – otherworldly yet deeply grounded in emotion.
Since forming in 2020, the Australian trio has been on a steady rise, with milestones like opening for Girl in Red further cementing their place in the indie world. However, their success is not just about the music – it's about the experience, and that experience was on full display in Melbourne.

The carefully curated stage design, featuring melted candles and dim, moody lighting, added to the sense of intimacy, as if the audience had stumbled into a secret, sacred space.
Beyond the music, what made this performance truly special was the undeniable connection between the band and their audience. Whether through heartfelt expressions of gratitude or the post-show meet-and-greet, Telenova radiated a sincere appreciation for their fans, creating an atmosphere that felt personal and deeply meaningful.
With the release of their debut album 'Time Is A Flower' last year, Telenova is proving they're not just another indie act but a force to be reckoned with. If this show was any indication, their journey is only just beginning – and it's one worth following.

Support acts Lotte Gallagher and Tash brought their own ethereal energy, setting the perfect tone for the night. While differing in genre, both artists shared a dreamy, atmospheric quality that complemented Telenova's sound beautifully, enhancing the overall flow of the evening.
