After a long wait, Olivia Rodrigo's Guts world tour has finally landed in Australia.
I had the incredible experience of attending the opening night of the first show in Melbourne at Rod Laver Arena (9 October) – what an unforgettable performance it was!Fans arrived decked out in dazzling glitter and vibrant red and purple outfits, perfectly capturing the spirit of Olivia's album themes. The creativity on display was truly impressive. The excitement was infectious, with many dedicated fans camping out for over three days just to secure the best spot at the barricade!
Before kicking off the concert, the word 'guts' was spelt out on the screen in the style of candles burning. The melting of the candles represented a countdown of how much longer there was until Olivia arrived onstage. This idea was so creative of her team to put in place; it was not only satisfying to watch but also interactive.

Beginning the show with her fan-favourite song 'Bad Idea Right?', Olivia set the tone for the night. The crowd erupted with cheers, clearly eager to hear this hit, and the energy in the arena was electric.
Olivia's vocals were nothing short of spectacular! 'Drivers License' was a standout for me – her performance was breathtaking, enhanced by stunning lighting and a haze that created a magical atmosphere onstage; as well as her beautiful dancing the band were putting in their all to make the show as perfect as it could be.
Her stage presence added an extra layer of excitement and made the night even more memorable, as she engaged with the audience and radiated energy throughout the show.

Halfway through the show, there were two songs where Olivia was transported onto a floating moon in between floating stars; it felt like a scene from a cinematic film, it was that stunning.
The show concluded with her single 'Get Him Back!', a perfect song choice to leave her mark at Rod Laver Arena. With the energy still high in the crowd and Olivia's spectacular presence, and the band's ability to enhance the instrumentation perfectly, it left the crowd satisfied with what they had witnessed throughout the night. Finally within the final moments of the song, multi-coloured confetti filled the room.

This show was truly one of the best concerts I have been to for pop female artists, it was like no other, it has its own uniqueness. This is just the beginning for Olivia; only a few years into her singing career and a fan base this passionate, the future looks incredibly bright.
