Currently celebrating the upcoming release of their newest EP, 'The Light We Chase', Sydney melodic-hardcore band Bloom have hit the road alongside fellow touring mates Inertia and Post Heaven, on their Withered Across Australia tour.
With the tour all but sold out, a slightly later start was not going to stop the chaos that was yet to unfold inside Melbourne's Stay Gold's newly refurbished walls (5 September).
An upcoming post-hardcore ensemble, Post Heaven opened the night with impeccable energy, drawing in early comers and setting the tone for the evening.
Unfortunately battling overpowered bass, drowning out the other band members, lead singer Yasmin de Laine still managed to showcase her strong clean and harsh vocal range.
Giving a Spiritbox essence and Poppy energy in her performance, de Laine thrives in the heavier side of Post Heaven and keeps the audience hooked when she demonstrates her raucous sound.
You can truly see the passion and drive the band's other vocalist Pat Kearney has for the group, taking every moment he could to hype up a stood-still but engaged crowd. The level of hype Kearney brings to the show will pay off for the band as they continue to grow in the Melbourne music scene.

It's just a shame, however, to see the bassist keeping his back to the audience as it pulled people out of the experience, leaving audience members questioning why his back remained turned for what could've been a very compelling show.
The alternative rock band have recently signed to Greyscale Records and have the upcoming release of their new EP 'The Space That's Inbetween' due on 3 October. You can listen now to their newest single, 'Exit Wound', on all streaming platforms.
Recently completing their own headline tour, dark-pop heroes Inertia took a step back from the spotlight to reconnect with longtime friends Bloom, bringing friendship to the forefront of the support act role.
Although circle pits ensued and crowd members were singing along to the words, guitarist Mark Williamson mentioned how it was still a step down from the high-energy levels they were used to on their headline tour.
Nonetheless, Inertia's performance was very well received and the connection Julian Latouche builds with his audience between songs adds to the feel-good environment. Latouche never neglects to take a moment to thank the audience for showing face and about how grateful they always are for the support.
Playing some of their biggest hits from their latest album, 'Second Shadow', to some of their older discography, the Sydney group strive on creating a show everyone can enjoy – for those already well immersed in the heavy music scene or just dipping their toe into it.

Latouche's beautiful harmonies and passionate vocals paired with the hard-hitting riffs and compositions from fellow bandmates is something you really need to see live to truly appreciate the impact Inertia has on the alternative, heavy music scene. East-coast Australian fans will have the chance to catch the Sydney troupe at Good Things in December later this year as they perform in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Letting the chaos unfold before them, melodic-hardcore rockers Bloom took to the Stay Gold stage. Their fans really know how to get the party going; first song in and people were climbing onstage then jumping back into the audience to crowd surf towards the back of the room.
There was not a single foot remaining on the ground for the entire set. It's no surprise as to why their only Australian headline tour for 2025 has nearly sold out with only Sydney having less than 100 tickets remaining (at the time of writing).
Frontman Jono Hawkey is a force to be reckoned with, not just in his talent but his whole performance personality, taking everything to the extreme where he can. His bandmates aren't far behind him with the energy they also bring to their performance, with guitarists Jarod Mclaren and Oliver Butler alongside bassist Andrew Martin bringing the head banging vibes up the front.
While drummer Jack Van Vilet holds the fort up the back with his pounding beats. The energy was purely unmatched and is definitely a contender for performance of the year.

Fans can have an early sneak peak of what is to come for their 11-track album with the latest release of the band's single 'Withered', a fast paced, upbeat and powerful song that has so far been well received by listeners.
From stage diving crowd surfers to the celebration of new and upcoming music, Bloom's Withered Across Australia tour is so far a massive success. With only two more shows to go and Brisbane already sold out, fans will be sad to miss out on the chaos and immense energy Post Heaven, Inertia and Bloom bring to this tour.
'The Light We Chase' is released 31 October, so be sure to pre-save the album if you haven’t already and catch Bloom in Brisbane (12 Sep) and Sydney (14 Sep).
