Alessia Cara is currently in Australia as part of her Love & Hyperbole tour.
Mostly known for her singles 'Here' and 'Wild Things', it was great being able to see her perform live, especially her hit song 'Stay' that was one of my personal favourites when it was initially released. The show was held at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda (10 May), which is such a beautiful venue to watch a show, since it is an older building.
Support act for her tour was indie singer-songwriter Charli Lucas. It was great seeing an Australian support act on an international artist's tour, because this is something we don't see a lot of anymore.

Charli had a magnificent voice and presence on the stage and interacted with the crowd to make sure they were ready for Alessia Cara to present herself.
As soon as Alessia took the stage, the crowd immediately began singing and dancing along to every song. The connection between Alessia was so wonderful, especially since this was a more intimate venue.

Her song 'Out Of Love' stood out to me because it is such a vulnerable piece of music with a story behind it, which is always interesting. Alessia vocals are so mesmerising and soft. Her voice is truly one of a kind.
Hit singles 'Here' and 'Scars To Your Beautiful' were the final songs performed, and what a way it was to complete the show with these two. Being the most popular songs in her discography, everybody in the room knew the words to them and were singing their hearts out every step of the way.
There were many moments during the show where she would tell the audience what the song was about, which gave the impression that the connection between her and her fans is something special and close to home.
