Review: 2021 Roady4Roadies Brisbane Walk

Roady4Roadies is an annual, national gathering in major cities to support the heart-beat of the Australian live music industry – the roadies.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Brisbane turned on a sparkling autumn day (11 April) as people hit the road for the annual Roady4Roadies event.

The event began early for a walk through the parklands of Brisbane Entertainment Centre ahead of an afternoon of live entertainment to support our roadcrew friends and families.

Local entertainment featured Hussy Hicks, Bec Lavelle, Oskar Campbell and Olivia Ruth on the outdoor stage under the gum trees, providing a backdrop for local roadies gathering and connecting for the first time in over a year after their industry was decimated by the pandemic.

Some of our interstate Roady4Roadies events were hit with cold and rain on their walks in Melbourne and Hobart, while the Perth event was postponed due to the cyclone.

Around the country entertainment was provided by some wonderful musicians showing their support for the crew that gets their show on the road, including Missy Higgins, Mark Seymour, Spy Vs Spy, Monique Brumby and many more.

More photos from the Brisbane event.

Roady4Roadies Townsville is still to be held on Friday 23 April at Flynn's Irish Bar, while Perth's rescheduled event will be announced shortly.
