Sydney's Iconic Red Eye Records Store will be launching the numbered and limited double-LP vinyl editions of Warner Music’s two Australian Nuggets releases.
Look for Down Under Nuggets: Original Australian Artyfacts 1965-1967 (1000 copies), and Nuggets: Antipodean Interpolations Of The First Psychedelic Era (500 copies), including exclusive new covers from Bleeding Knees Club, Bored Nothing and Melodie Nelson.
Owen Penglis (Straight Arrows and co-producer of Nuggets: Antipodean Interpolations...) and original ‘60s artists Lindsay Bjerre (The Sunsets and Taman Shud) and Barrington Davis (of Raining Teardrops fame) will appear in store to discuss the legacy of ‘60s garage and psych rock and Nuggets past and present in a conversation mediated by Marty Doyle (FBi Radio’s Dusty Fingers).
As well as tagging along for some wild tunes and interesting conversations, I hear Mountain Goat Brewery will be providing some free beer that night.
A Nugget's Natter will be at Red Eye Records (Sydney) Friday July 5 at 5pm.
