Relive the unadulterated chaos of beloved '90s ABC music show 'Recovery' with a one-hour special 'Recovery: The Music And The Mayhem' as part of Ausmusic month.
Host Dylan Lewis takes viewers on a journey through the show’s best performances, interviews and moments alongside his 'Recovery' co-hosts including Jane Gazzo, film reviewer turned Hollywood director Leigh Whannell and the ever-mysterious The Enforcer.
“Working on Recovery back in the day was rad," Dylan says.
"It was crazy, loose and so fun. Putting together this rockumentary has been nostalgic bliss for me and I can’t wait for old fans and new ones to experience it."
Also along for the ride are the musicians who were there, re-living their Recovery experiences and sharing their insights on the '90s and what the beloved show meant to them, including: Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, Killing Heidi, members of Silverchair, Spiderbait, Regurgitator, Something for Kate, Magic Dirt, Jebediah, The Living End, The Superjesus and many more.
Relive the original 'Recovery' experience on a Saturday morning when Dylan takes over the 'Rage' 23 November couch to reclaim his 9am timeslot with a special age-appropriate presentation of 'Recovery: The Music and the Mayhem', while the ruder, louder, uncut version will screen on Wednesday 27 November at 9pm.
From 1996 to 2000, Recovery was compulsory viewing for a generation of Australians who tuned in every Saturday morning at 9am for three hours of anarchic television. Local and international artists performed live, Hollywood stars dropped by to spruik their latest film and the audience was never quite sure what they’d just witnessed and what mayhem was up next.
'Recovery: The Music And The Mayhem' airs on ABC TV at 9am Saturday 23 November and at 9pm on Wednesday 27 November.
