Tell us a bit about what we can expect at Quentin & The Tarantino's?
No director in the history of cinema has a soundtrack as eclectic and iconic as Quentin Tarantino does. In our show, you can expect a gritty, raw performance of Tarantino's finest musical choices spanning his vast collection of classic soundtracks from the movies that shaped our lives.
There are also 'a few extra surprises' too. . . Can you reveal anything about this?
You know that scene in 'From Dusk Til Dawn' when Salma Hayek is dancing on stage with a snake? Or that scene in 'Pulp Fiction' where Mia Wallace brings Vincent Vega up on stage to dance at Jack Rabbit Slim's? That's all I can say. . .
How did this show come to life?
We had done a 'Pulp Fiction' show and the idea came up to expand it into a whole Tarantino show. His movies always have such cool soundtracks with loads of different styles, so it suited our band perfectly.
What is it, do you think, that has made Tarantino's work last and remain as iconic as ever?
It's his dialogue; it's always so clever and intelligent. The plot twists and turns. And the music is always right on the money.
What's your favourite Tarantino film?
'Pulp Fiction'. For me, it's the greatest film of all time. It's timeless. The characters are all brilliant and the weaving storyline is just so good. A perfect film.
How are you hoping audiences respond to this show?
If we have learned anything in the last two years, it's that nothing beats the energy of being at a live concert. Just like a Tarantino movie, there will be twists and turns, there will be wit and fire, dancing and drinking.
If you could play the soundtrack of another iconic director live, who would you pick?
I love Wes Anderson movies. He is always so quirky and weird. Or the Coen Brothers.
Which of Tarantino's soundtrack songs does the band get the most enjoyment playing?
'Misirlou', the opening track to 'Pulp Fiction' is always a hit. We do an amazing version of 'Little Green Bag' from 'Reservoir Dogs', but there are so many great moments, the whole set is a buzz.
