The Queensland Music Awards (QMAs) 2020 are now open for self-nominations from artists and filmmakers across a dozen categories.

Songwriters and artists can nominate themselves in a wide range of categories, including Pop, Rock and Heavy as well as Electronic / Dance, Hip Hop / Rap, Country and more.

There is also a Video award category exclusively for filmmakers to nominate their own work for consideration in the eighth annual QMAs, which will take place in March 2020 at its new home, The Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane.

"The Queensland Music Awards celebrate and showcase the best of Queensland’s music industry and we are excited to be hosting the 2020 QMAs at the new Fortitude Music Hall," QMusic CEO Angela Samut says.

“The QMAs not only provide a platform for our local artists to be recognised nationally and abroad but also our industry leaders, festivals and live music venues too, that keep the joy of music alive in our communities.”

Songwriters have until 24 October, 2019, to enter their songs in the self-nominating categories via the QMAs website.

The 2020 Queensland Music Awards are on at The Fortitude Music Hall (Brisbane), March 2020.
