Victoria's worsening COVID-19 situation has claimed Queenscliff Music Festival, who have postponed their 2020 event (planned for 27-29 November) to next year.
"We're not going anywhere and we will be back bigger and better next year. QMF is here to stay," event organisers state in a letter to festival patrons.Transfer and refund options are available to 2020 ticket holders, who'll be contacted direct by the festival.
QMF hope to have some form of live music in Queenscliff this summer, dependent on an easing of social-distancing restrictions. Watch this space.
Queenscliff Music Festival will take place 26-28 November, 2021.
To Our Dear QMF Family,
This is without question the most difficult email I've had to write. I know how much QMF means to so many of you, our loyal supporters, regular attendees, Q-Crew, sponsors, community members, artists, crew and many more whom this decision will ultimately impact.
Sadly we have made the difficult decision to not proceed with the Queenscliff Music Festival this November. Our 24th Festival has been postponed a year until November 26-28, 2021.
We held out as long as we could, in the hope that things would improve and that we might be able to hold a festival, and for a while there it really looked liked things were improving and we'd be able to. Unfortunately though, with the recent COVID-19 spike in Victoria it is no longer possible.
In making this decision, at the forefront of our mind was:
• The health & safety of all Festival attendees, staff, artists, crew, volunteers, and our community
• The unknown level or restrictions come November and the risk involved with such uncertainty
• Providing a quality Festival experience for all attendees, that you expect, and we pride ourselves on
All 2020 ticket holders will be contacted separately via email regarding the Transfer & Refund process.
QMF 2020 tickets will automatically transfer and become valid for QMF 2021 unless you wish to receive a refund. Emails to ticket holders regarding this process will be sent out today.
We would encourage those of you who can to transfer your ticket to QMF 2021. It's a huge help for us, and also guarantees you won't pay more for a ticket next year. We won't be offering tickets at a price cheaper than you've already purchased them for.
We will soon begin working on our rescheduled 24th Festival plans. We'd like to reassure you that we're not going anywhere and we will be back bigger and better next year. QMF is here to stay.
Meanwhile, we are busy working on some Plan B options. We would like to be able to have some music in Queenscliff this November 27-29 and/or this Summer if possible.
In order to announce anything solid we need a clearer picture of restrictions though, so for now, it's simply a 'watch this space'.
We know many of you love coming down to Queenscliff regardless of the Festival, and we hope you're still able to do this on November 27-29. If you're in a position to keep your accommodation bookings we'd encourage you to do so.
Our town, community and businesses would still love to welcome you in November assuming restrictions permit, and fingers crossed we're able to have some music in town that weekend for you.
So for now we say goodbye to QMF until November 2021, and hopefully we can see you in Queenscliff sometime between now and then. Stay safe everyone!
Much Love,
Andrew Orvis & Team QMF xo
