Queens Of The Stone Age have carved their name among the most influential, genre-bending, death-defying groups in music – and in 2024 they return to Australia.
Their first tour down under since 2018, the Josh Homme-led QOTSA will headline concerts in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane (x2 shows) next February.QOTSA are also the first act named to play MONA FOMA 2024 in Hobart, as well as headlining Lookout Festival in Gold Coast and Torquay (alongside Spiderbait, The Chats, Pond, Gut Health and Lola Scott).
'The End Is Nero' tour is in support of QOTSA's eighth studio album, 'In Times New Roman...', which debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts when it dropped back in June.
Homme is joined by Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore who invite the obscene and the clean, the outcasts and the weirdos, and anyone and everyone in between to attend 'cause 'this is where you belong'.
"We usually play something from every record, or we try to. We try to mix it up all the time – it's fun for us, and it's fun for our fans," Theodore told scenestr recently; that interview will be published online in the coming days.
"It's just been a pleasure," Jon continues. "The crowds are getting bigger, and our show is as good as it could ever be right now.
"With the way the band is playing, the lights, the sound – it's topnotch. And people are responding to us in a way that certainly feels different to the entire ten years that I've been in the band."
Alongside 'In Times New Roman...' cuts 'Paper Machete' and 'Emotion Sickness', QOTSA fans can expect all the hits – here's hoping we receive 'No One Knows', 'Make It Wit Chu', 'Little Sister', 'Go With The Flow' and 'The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret'.
The tour will see a mix of different support acts at each show: The Chats, Spiderbait, Pond, Gut Health and Lola Scott.
Tickets on sale from 1pm (local time) on 30 October.
