Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Doesn't anybody release an album in Wee Waa anymore?

Queens of the Stone Age fans better clear their schedules because tomorrow afternoon (Friday May 24) the band will be performing their new album Like Clockwork live in its entirety, and streaming the show via NPR. The album is the band's first full length collection of all new material since 2007's Era Vulgaris and their debut with new label partner Matador.

Described by frontman Josh Homme as “an audio documentary of a manic year”, this much anticipated release is the culmination of a tumultuous recording period in which included the departure of long time drummer Joey Castillo.

Earlier this week, the band released a 15-minute promo animation in the form of a compilation of their previous animated videos, all featuring artwork from UK artist Boneface and animation from Liam Brazier.

The big reveal will be streamed worldwide from a sold out show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, with the record due for official release on iTunes from May 31 and available for pre-order now.

Stream 'Like Clockwork' live from The Wiltern from 1pm AEST Friday May 24.
