YT DiNGO is an Australian multidisciplinary artist.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Isn't it time you listened to the howling cry of YT DiNGO?

The multidisciplinary creative – who has collaborated with Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg in Los Angles as well as touring the world breakdancing on stilts – is a 'teller of tales that vibrant the body and soul'.

YT DiNGO (pronounced 'white dingo') possesses a sound self-described as 'like Rage Against The Machine and Madonna had a baby in the land down under'.

Their newest release is 'Temptalien' – featuring Emily Wurrawara and Angela Wurramara – a track about the reformative power of acceptance to nurture personal growth allowing foundations to be laid forging new connections with self and country.

A heavy, tribal electronica groove instantly attracts your attention as gleaming piano keys add to the ominous atmosphere.

A washed-out AutoTune vocal pierces the sonic landscape, its primal, guttural resonance engulfing the senses, transporting the listener to a foreboding scenario that's at once enticing yet alarming.

Mid-song Emily and Angela Wurramara sing in Anindilyakwa, luring the listener with an enchanting brew of ancient language providing a soothing balm to the overloaded senses, the haunting piano and strings alongside shimmering hi-hats adding to the ethereal tones.

The song's alluring, energetic beat then returns, restoring the frenetic passion as the journey of self-discovery is completed.

Ahead of the song's release on Monday (27 November), scenestr is thrilled to premiere the 'Temptalien' music video today. Enjoy.

"The music video begins on the balcony where Angela and Emily shared their stories, before transitioning to the ship and the ocean.

"YT DiNGO, alone at sea, finds himself reflecting on the imprint of colonialism and the diseases it has brought upon him.

"Emily Wurramara, a spirit on the ship, sings him towards the ocean, where he encounters characters of himself lured by different temptations that he must overcome with the help of Anindilyakwa women.

"Eventually, he forms a connection with a First Nation mermaid, leading him to leave the ship behind and embark on a journey of knowledge and growth.

"Matriarch mermaid Angela Wurramara, singing in Anindilyakwa, is among the mermaids awaiting him. Through ceremony and surrendering to the unknown, his colonised mindset is transformed, and he is nurtured by the wisdom and leadership of these trusted law keepers of the ocean."
