With a sound that fuses alt-pop, ambient music and slow-wave electronica (think This Mortal Coil if you need an audio reference) Adelaide queer duo Winter Witches are back with a new single, 'The One'.
Winter Witches is the creative and romantic partnership between Em Konig and Sweeney. 'The One' is their fourth single release in the last eight months and follows 'Train/Water' (limited edition 7" vinyl), 'Unspeakable Clothes/This Religion' (released on UK label TenWest) and 'Knightsbridge'.
With 'The One' released on Monday (6 August), thanks to Em and Sweeney scenestr has the inside lane to premiere the song's video today.
"With Winter Witches' signature brand of atmospheric dream-pop," the duo says, "we mix electronic glitch-beats and sequencers to create a kind of ritualistic song that builds into a frenzy, perfect for bedroom dancing on those nights where you want to disappear into your own private dance club."
