After a successful showing at BIGSOUND in Brisbane last month, and fresh off the recent release of their EP 'We Are', local melodic hardcore band Wildheart are ready to release their newest video, 'Solitude'.
With guest vocals from Tom Devine-Harrison, of Darwin's post-rock outfit Tapestry, 'Solitude' adds to Wildheart's positive approach to open conversations surrounding mental health and discrimination.
"'Solitude' as a song is really about the sort of toll that being alone, or at least feeling like you're alone, can have," the band says.
"It's about the feeling that regardless of how hard you try, you're stuck in an endless cycle with no way of breaking out.
"Ultimately, it's another song about the battles waging in our minds and doing whatever we can to try and make it out the other side."
scenestr is amped to be able to premiere the 'Solitude' video ahead of its official release tomorrow (26 October).
"We shot the ['Solitude'] video with our great mate Dan Ram(say) - he shot our recent video for the title track of the EP, 'We Are'.
"We love working with Dan; it's just super easy. We had some special help from another one of our new friends, Tom Wooler who helped out as the lead.
"The video was shot over the course of 24 hours. Dan, Tom, Axel (vocalist) and some of the others involved shot some scenes in the morning; then we took the Valley to drop into Sa... I'm actually not sure if I'm allowed to say but yeah, the Valley for some more scenes; and then we headed to northern New South Wales to film the big outdoor shot.
"That was a lot of fun thanks to the stock-standard issues like generators running out of fuel and getting overloaded with lights and speakers and sh.t. But really, a great time. Long-ass day, but we're really happy with what Dan and the team were able to put together."
