Melbourne-based rockers Vermantics are back with new single 'Don't Think Twice', a pulsating jam that brings to life unbridled thirst traps.

The group's second single of 2024, 'Don't Think Twice' saw the quartet featuring brothers Stefan (vocals, guitar) and Daniel Fedele (bass), Jack Stevenson (guitar) and Julian Perrotta (drums) work with UK-based producer Tom Leach (Lewis Capaldi, LEAP) and ARIA Award-winning Phil Threlfall (5 Seconds Of Summer, Bliss N Eso).

"We have this big energy when we play live so we really leaned into that on this one," Julian says.

Crunchy yet stylish rock licks are married to a stuttering riff that finally explodes to life with a blistering ball of energy that leads to the lustful chorus.

The track has a mid-song breakdown that throws a 180, the dynamic duelling guitar lines slithering together in a sensual lick that slowly evaporates into a maelstrom of sludgy-style rock & roll that returns to a frisky rhythm that gallops to the finish line in a sweaty, frothy mess.

Released earlier this month, today scenestr is amped to premiere the 'Don't Think Twice' music video. Enjoy.

A band whose members all hail from Adelaide but randomly came together while living in Melbourne, Vermantics came to life in 2021. Now they're making moves to base themselves in Europe/ UK later this year having recently opened for Australian icons The Superjesus and British India.

"'Don't Think Twice' is about the rush you get when something is new and exciting," Jack says, "and you're so caught up in it you don't care about whether it's actually good for you. The music came first and it just felt like that kind of story fit the song.

"The riff that kicks off the song was actually a thing Stef came up with," adds Jack. "He was sitting at the drums and started humming this two-note rhythmic thing and playing along.

"It had a great energy and was so simple, so as we were writing the rest of the song there was a conscious effort to keep the guitar parts as simple as possible. I think it gives the song a really cool hypnotic, rolling out of control feel."
