Gold Coast alternative rockers Vallies are quickly building a solid reputation for crafting slick, tasty productions filled with delicious grooves that will make your hips sway.
Only established in 2019, the band's most recent single is 'It's All Sunshine' (released in October), with its Incubus meets Jeff Buckley influences proudly worn on each member's sleeve.Comprised of Tim Kasjan (drums, vocals), Jay Hankey (bass), Zian Papp (guitar), and Barty Charles (vocals), the band are highly appreciative of the incredible drive and support they've received from local industry professionals including Troy Borg at Sunnyside Sounds (Worongary) and Will 'Doc' Love at Motet Creative Studios (Molendinar).
With their local presence building, Vallies decided to create a promo video for marketing purposes thinking they'd come away with a 1-2 minute clip.
After videographer Thomas Hardy (Motet Creative Studios) began filming, he soon had enough footage to piece together a music video for 'It's All Sunshine' (which was originally recorded at Sunnyside Sound).
"A lot of footage which was shot, especially the beach footage, we didn't expect to make the final cut," frontman Barty Charles says.
"This is why we all seem so candid. We were extremely surprised to find that Thomas had somehow used footage of us being dickheads, but integrated it in such a way that the entire clip still comes off as professional.
"At the end of the day, we are just here to have fun while putting on the best possible live shows we can, and we think Thomas has captured that perfectly."
scenestr is amped to premiere the 'It's All Sunshine' music video today. Enjoy.
"A really exciting part of this project has been that every member is bringing something to the creative process," adds Jay Hankey, "and we are not pigeonholing ourselves into any one style or genre.
"We are really excited for 2021 as we have a lot of new music recorded and think each new release will surprise people.
"Fingers crossed these new songs can help us gain some new fans that previous releases may not have. Just because one Vallies song isn't really your style doesn't mean that the next won't be either."
Despite the travails of the past 12 months, Vallies have also managed to establish their name as live band with performances across SE QLD as well as northern NSW. They'll continue that run with another string of live dates this autumn.
