Alternative pop-punk Melbourne band Ultravlt have had a productive 2022 releasing four singles so far.
Their newest song, 'I Never Liked You In The First Place', is another high-energy blast of bouncy-aggressive riffs with lyrics that explore themes of a toxic, manipulative relationship."'I Never Liked You In The First Place' was written and produced in 2020," the band says.
"We are so excited to release this after a long wait due to COVID! This song has a more mature sound compared to the last releases, with darker lyrics accompanied by hard-hitting melodies to showcase the raw emotions of the song."
The band have also filmed their very first music video for 'I Never Liked You In The First Place' that was directed by Crow River Visuals (Windwaker, Make Them Suffer, Terra).
scenestr is stoked to premiere the music video today. Enjoy.
"A big shoutout to The Loud Noise Estate for co-writing and producing this bad boy. Wouldn't be as killer without them," the band says.
"The dark themes of this song inspired vocalist Sarah to dig deep into personal battles, writing about being in a toxic and manipulative relationship but finding it difficult to leave because the relationship is important to others.
"This leads to constant heartbreak as they put up with another's toxicity based on the expectation of others."
On the live front, this year Ultravlt have played a show every month or so in their home town supporting the likes of local favourites Drastic Park, The Motion Below, Vermont, and Days Like These.
