Self-described 'misfit rockers' The Velvet Addiction peddle a brand of classic, '70s-inspired rock drenched in modern grooves.
Their latest single, 'Lost In The View', was released last week and heralds the first single from the Melbourne group's forthcoming EP, simply titled 'Volume 2'.
Formed after a boozy night in one of Melbourne's local bars, the four musicians banded together recognising each others' dark histories including broken homes and family violence.
"'Lost In The View' to me represents finding peace in a negative outcome, realising that it's necessary to grow and move forward," the group's vocalist Stefan West says.
The Velvet Addiction have filmed a behind-the-scenes video about the making of 'Lost In The View', which scenestr is pumped to premiere today.
At 3 minutes, 30 seconds it won't eat too much time into your spare time either; so grab yourself a sanger and hit play.
"For us as band," adds guitarist Aaron Bach, "we feel this song captures the things we are about, the things that speak the most about us as a band.
"It really brings us back to where we feel most comfortable and that place is always right between groove and raunch guitar, you know, that real Brit-rock vibe."
The band will also be touring in late August, early September.
