Premiere: Watch The Suicide Tuesdays '1997' Lyric Video

The Suicide Tuesdays
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Around since 2014, Melbourne folk-punk band The Suicide Tuesdays love singing songs about 'beer, whiskey, friends and regrets'.

Led by songwriter Joe Guiton, the band will soon release their debut album, 'This Is For You'. The first single taken from the new album is '1997'.

On the topic of the song, Joe says: "The suburb I grew up in was great for young kids, but when you hit 15 and there was nothing to do you had a choice.

"A. Play football with a bunch of racist sexist assholes or B. Play music and do drugs.

"Guess which one I chose? The song is about when it got too much and I decided to leave that stupid, bastard town while trying to get someone to buy us cigarettes from a 7-11."

'This Is For You' will be available on 18 January through iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and all good streaming services/ digital retailers.
