Melbourne's groove funksters, The Natural Culture's newest release is the buzzingly sweet, feel-good jam 'Beez Kneez'.
The follow-up to their earlier 2021 EP, 'Where The Sun Shines' (a funk-jazz-roots release to brighten the soul), 'Beez Kneez' is an uptempo number that lyrically traverses the feelings associated with pursuing new experiences. Building on their funk, world music and indie pop elements with a sprinkling of jazz tones, 'Beez Kneez' finds the group exploring the hectic electronic world of drum n bass.
"'Beez Kneez' is a composition TNC created when exploring drum n bass grooves while on tour," guitarist Steven Silk says.
"Our previous works are fairly eclectic, so with this track we wanted to maintain our diversity with some different production elements by adding electronic drums, samples, midi strings and broader orchestrations into the mix."
Ahead of the song's release tomorrow, scenestr is stoked to premiere the lyric video for 'Beez Kneez' today. Enjoy.
Although exploring new textures, the group wanted to remain honest to their sonic origins on 'Beez Kneez'. "In addition to welcoming these new features, we feel the track is still resonant to our sound at its roots," Steven says.
"We wanted to maintain the natural sense of fun and excitement that our music generally portrays while keeping true to our underlying appreciation of nature and sustainability.
"The lyrics are inspired by getting an insight into something more and having the courage to break free and pursue that experience to the fullest extent."
