Sydney band The Mezcaltones peddle a Tex Mex, '60s-cowboy rockabilly, surf-guitar style of twang that's hard to pigeonhole.
With four appearances at the Tamworth Country Music Festival as well as billing on the Sydney Winterfest Blues festival and the Sydney Blues & Roots festival, the band's inspiration comes from the attitude of those famous Tarantino/ Robert Rodriguez flicks, cowboy movies and b-grade, low budget 1960s teen movies.
Their latest video is for the new single, 'Humble Pie', (lifted from their current album, 'Second') which scenestr is stoked to premiere today.
'Humble Pride' is an anti-bullying song about standing up for yourself. Many bullies are not aware of how their actions affect others and the song states for bullies to have a think about their comments before judging others.
Visually the film clip contains a message for victims of bullying; it takes a positive approach to the bullying problem with band members holding signs with messages of encouragement. Simple signs sending a clear message.
