A sludgy, slinky groove and a psych-inflicted melody with droney vocals, Gold Coast act Super Ghost continue their impressive run of alt-rock flavoured indie with 'Waiting List'.
The final track (and lead single) of their super-tight debut EP 'Left For Dust', 'Waiting List' is one part The Dears, another part Children Collide. Now the duo of Hudson MacMahon and Alexander Shoesmith have teamed with another talented emerging artist and Rage featured director, animator Emily Hicks (EMIKAHI) to create a stylish music video for 'Waiting List'.
"This music video has been in the pipeline for quite some time now," Super Ghost says.
"We wanted to work with animation to really bring something new to the local scene and the work done by Emily is just next level."
Without further ado, scenestr is amped to premiere the 'Waiting List' music video today. Enjoy.
"We had the idea for the clip while driving to the music store to spend the last $10 of our savings," adds Alexander and Hudson.
"On the drive we ended up frantically plotting the themes for the video and by the time we got home it was ready to show to Emily.
"We had a relatively rough idea and wanted to give Emily creative control on this project so it could really come to life and we think she did an amazing job."
With a unique cartoon style that highlights vibrant colours that draw you into the visual landscape, Emily has previously animated with bands such as Peach Fur and Blussh.
"I really wanted to capture a feeling of liminality, represented within the mental, and the physical; the individual, and society at large," Emily says.
"The indeterminable feelings that arise from being at the threshold of a new chapter, at the precipice of the unknown."
