Although he's a relative unknown on the Aussie indie music scene, Melbourne's Sunset Blush has fans in the form of fellow musicians Goyte and Angie Hart.
Originally from Queensland but based in Melbourne for 15-plus years, Sunset Blush has been writing, recording and gigging locally and nationally for years, delivering his self-described 'Purpleslam' for your ears and soul. His newest release is 'Rag Doll', a song that features a creepin', looming rhythm section making way for a dirge, melancholic swagger with a gravelly vocal drawl that's equally dry as it is distinct.
"Keeping things feeling and sounding real is what the music is all about," Sunset Blush says about 'Rag Doll', which was released earlier this year.
Now Sunset Blush ready to showcase an accompanying music video for 'Rag Doll' that scenestr is stoked to premiere today. Enjoy.
With influences as varied as REM, Prince, Guns N' Roses, and George Michael, Sunset Blush next assignment is a local live show at The Tote (in Collingwood) 22 July. "I can't wait to play my next gig at The Tote.
"I'm going to be teaming up with the lovely and amazing Don't Thank Me Spank Me and Kitty Rae. This is going to be serious action. You know you wanna!"
