The pairing of Tys and Loz, Sunday Lemonade was formed after they first met at a bootleg bar in 2018, the duo quickly stealing smiles with their feel-good melodies after they ran away together like Bonnie & Clyde.
Basking in their newfound love for each other, Tys and Loz abandoned their day jobs to focus on their romantic relationship while creating music together full-time.They've since toured relentlessly across Australia playing everywhere from house parties, busking on street corners, headlining their own concerts as well as supporting the likes of Steph Strings, Pierce Brothers and Ash Grunwald.
With a buoyant outlook on life, Sunday Lemonade's irresistible brand of sunny, vibing folk music is the perfect antidote to wash away any negative energy that may be surrounding you.
"Sunday Lemonade has grown from a want to be our honest selves," Loz says. "Our live performance represents both of our bubbly, optimistic personalities and our music has developed to be the same.
"I love to tell a detailed story with lyrics, and Tys is all vibe and catchy melodies so together, we like to think it's a real good time, ha!"
After releasing a string of singles throughout 2022, Sunday Lemonade's current release is 'Runaway' – a joyous, breezy track about unspoken lust that explores the fascinating hints and moments with another human alongside the frustration felt for lacking the courage to act on those feelings.
"[It's] the fairytale dream of what would happen if that person would hurry up and grab your hand, take you on an adventure and you'd finally have the chance to fall in love," Loz says.
"This song was actually wiped from the set list a few years back, but thankfully was given another shot and developed into a groovy tune while busking the streets of Byron Bay."
With 'Runaway' already released, scenestr is stoked to premiere the song's music video. Enjoy.
"After playing it at every show for three years, all the parts of 'Runaway' came together in just one day in the studio," shares Loz. "We were trying to match our live performance energy, lots of bounce, lots of joy and love.
"I tend to write stories that I haven't necessarily lived; this developed from just one interaction and the lyrics developed as I walked a long journey of the Camino in Spain picking up every guitar for a strum I could along the way before Tys and I had started making music together!"
