Soaked in the sad musings of a beautiful harmonica played by Riley Catherall, his latest song, 'Robin', is simply stunning. A robust, but beautifully layered piece of alt. country that tells the tale of two young lovers and the 'sliding doors' decisions made.
The song also features the vocal talents of 2018 ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Kasey Chambers, who Riley has performed with previously. "I'm very grateful for Kasey lending me her voice for the track," Riley says.
Part of his 'Venture In Vain' EP set for release 26 November, on Monday Riley will be releasing the accompanying video to 'Robin'.
"I'm equally thankful for everyone involved with the filming of the music video, offering up their time to sit down in a pub in Brunswick (Melbourne) and watch me lip-sync the words for a few hours… I'm sure the beer helped.
"I left it up to the very capable hands of Lachlan Bryan to paint a visual representation of the song, opting for an arty, 'Sliding Doors' take on what I consider to be an ode-like song about not keeping beautiful things in cages."

"'Robin' is one of those songs which wasn't there one minute and then the next," adds Riley, "it was the indispensable piece of work that set the tone for all future writing.
"It came off the back of a couple of soul-soothing gigs that inspired me to lock myself away and write about the stage and chasing the feeling you get when you feel that people are really connecting to your music.
"It was an incredible experience taking it into the studio and watching it come to life."
