Premiere: Watch Raxfen's Music Video 'Insomnia'

Raxfen's newest single is titled 'Insomnia'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

An alternative electronic producer, Redland Bay local Raxfen constructs brokenbeat soundscapes fans of Amon Tobin will want to tune into.

The young artist has being creating music for the past three years, with his latest release 'Insomnia' inspired by Flume's 'Ecdysis'. "I made the track after days of just listening to Flume's mixtape on repeat," Raxfen admits.

"It ended up being finished in a matter of hours just because it just seemed to all fall together so well.

"All of the separate elements just worked immediately to create this sick soundscape that made me feel like I was in a dream."

That "sick soundscape" abounds with otherworldly sounds and alien-like sirens that Raxfen has married to an equally unique music video filmed in rural Redland Bay that scenestr is stoked to premiere today. Enjoy.

"Ashton (the dancer) and Jordan (the cameraman) were honestly just so good to work with," Raxfen says.

"We were only shooting for an hour and there were hardly any hold ups. We luckily stumbled across someone's driveway to film on.

"The lady who lives there actually came down as we were filming and pulled up and was just like, 'You guys filming?' We just said 'yeah' and were so ready to be told off, but she just replies with 'Okay, cool have fun!' and drove off. Thank god because it was such a dope spot."
