Sydney's newest rock act, Pretty Thrills last month debuted their first single 'Flames' – a track that explores the highs and lows with illicit drug use.
"'Flames' was written with the intention to channel both sides of the party. The come up and the come down, and how there's something almost romantic found in the aftermath as well as the highs," singer Max Donnellan says.
Formed from the ashes of a previous act, brothers Max and Bryce Donnellan and friend Josh Bernard have pieced together a new project that meets between the worlds of pop-rock and post-hardcore.
"Musically, I was trying to channel bands like The Police with the pumping bass lines with slinky guitar riffs intertwined between," Max adds.
"The aim was to remain minimalist in this approach while still creating quite significant soundscapes."
Today, Pretty Thrills have shared with scenestr the lyric video for 'Flames' that we're stoked to share with you guys. Enjoy.
