Sydney-based underground hip hop duo No Label Necessary (NLN) are back with their new single 'Like You', out this Friday (5 April), that is lifted from the duo's forthcoming 'MIDN9T X' EP.
2018 saw NLN release ‘Problems’, amass a social media following of 40k-plus and support the likes of Tech N9ne and R.A The Rugged Man.
‘Like You’ has a classic '90s west-coast vibe nestled with a modern electronic, hip hop groove. The track was produced and engineered by MixedByEspa, who's been behind hits for Pharrell and Future.
Creepah and Thony aka NLN have also teamed with Melbourne’s Kudzai (who dropped the heavy single '4 Deep In The Suburbs' last year looking at perceived African gang violence) on ‘Like You’, which is bound to have bodies moving when their club tour hits the east coast this winter.
Today, scenestr is stoked to share with you the video clip for 'Like You'. "We watched a tonne of music videos to get ideas for this one," NLN says. "We always knew we wanted it to be in a studio, we just weren't sure of how to attack it.
"We drew vibes from Tyga, Nipsey Hussle and a few other artists that really gave us a picture.
"The final result of the video really made us proud; we usually have a set vision at the start and always know it never comes out 100 per cent that exact way because of our spontaneous ideas that get thrown in, but it's something we revise with the whole team over and over till everyone's happy and we have our video."
