Adelaide's Neon Tetra return with a lush, new single 'Jealous Love' which bounces with a tropical beat and enough '80s feels that'll it have you reaching for your suitcase car phone. Honest.
Bringing together an insatiable groove with fun lyricism and melodic strength, the band are in their element and at ease on record. It's like Phoenix took a funk pill and started jamming with Client Liaison with liberal splashes of Talking Heads and Wham! thrown into the mix.
'Jealous Love' came to fruition during sessions spent writing and recording at Supermelody Studios in Kerrie, Victoria, working with noted producer and engineer James Cecil (Architecture in Helsinki, Totally Mild).
Ahead of a run of live shows, the band are ready to unleash the accompanying video clip to 'Jealous Love'. But they couldn't wait any longer, so they've given scenestr the inside lane to premiere it today; be the first to watch it now.
"We wanted to play on the romantic nature of the lyrics of 'Jealous Love' when shooting the video," bass player Liam Roche says.
"Taking influence from the super-cheesy and earnest nature of '80s music videos, we loved the idea of juxtaposing an unusual romance against overly dramatic band shots and choreography.
"We had so much fun run-and-gunning the video over a brief two-day shoot and we think that shows in the final product."
