Self-described as 'versatile folk rock', Brisbane songwriter Neighbour returns with his latest creative endeavour, the gorgeous-sounding new single 'Confidence' (out 3 March).
"For almost two years, 'Confidence' sat as a demo that resembled a slow folk song that I thought was too personal to release publicly," Neighbour says.
"After a while, I decided to try it with the band and wrote some keys parts for the song and it took on a new life.
"The last chorus of the song has a similar drumbeat and feel to 'Dumb Things' by Paul Kelly, which is great because I think it's very hard not to move your body to that song."
To celebrate the release, Neighbour is hosting a house show in Highgate Hill (Brisbane) this Saturday 3 March.
"I'm planning on having the house show be everything I have always wanted out of a show: a great venue, intimacy, good atmosphere and above all enjoyable music."
