A quaint, fragile, indie folk number with heart-felt lyrics of hope wrapped around everyday moments of a share house during lockdown, Naomi Keyte's newest release is 'Greenhill'.
Add dusty snare fills as well as plenty of swaying and cooing as Naomi's husky-sweet vocals cloak themselves around you, and Naomi has created an instantly charming ballad we can all relate to given the events of the past 18 months."I started writing the song sitting on my friend's porch and it details life in a share house during lockdown," Naomi says.
"The song is mostly about being inside, and is quite literal, so we thought we'd take the video outside and into a more abstract space."
The accompanying music video is equal parts charming; a mix of nostalgia-filled scenes and grainy footage from a rural property and abandoned apple orchid in the Adelaide Hills (Summertown), a number of interior shots that add plenty of mood and atmosphere, car trips, and yachting.
The first taste of her sophomore album that is currently in the works, scenestr is stoked to premiere the music video for 'Greenhill' today. Enjoy.
Shot and edited by George Graetz with help from Tom Symes and Rosina Possingham, it's a gorgeous montage representing the simple joys in life that make it fulfilling.
"This video was shot up in an abandoned apple orchard in Summertown, in the Adelaide Hills," Naomi says.
"It's a property I've spent a lot of time on over the past few years. You take Greenhill Road to get from Summertown to the city and the drive features a stunning view of the city."
