Sydney rapper Morus is back with another politically-charged single, 'Triggered', which came about when he wanted see how much outrage he could generate with some tongue-in-cheek humour that doesn't directly attack either side of the political spectrum.
"The single is more about aggravating both sides to argue among themselves, as I attempted to make some valid points about the direction I see society heading and shine light on what I deem as 'truth' in an intentionally inflammatory manner," Morus says.
The clip begins with a character wearing a Donald Trump mask holding a press conference. "Being that the idea of the song is to 'trigger' people and invoke conversation between listeners, I used Donald Trump as he's a very polarising character. People either love him or hate him.
"In today's hip hop scene people won't pay you any mind if you aren't doing something outrageous, and seeing as face tattoos and coloured dreadlocks aren't my style, I figured putting some very controversial words in the US President's mouth should do the trick."
Today, scenestr is amped to premiere the accompanying video for 'Triggered'.
Morus will release his new EP, 'Dream Time', next month.
