A Brisbane-based hyperpop artist who self produces, writes, records and performs all of his material, LUISISALREADYDEAD has revealed the first track from his 'Computer Music' album rollout.
Centred around a theme of everyday stresses with people in your life and how they can affect your own mindset, 'Johnny' is based on Johnny from the 'Johnny The Homicidal Maniac' comic.Blunted yet concise future-trap beats that slothfully wanders across warm hyperpop textures, the mix also features sparkly flecks of production that infuse the track with an alluring trip-hop vibe.
"'Johnny' is a track about self-reflection," begins Luis. "I wanted to craft a track that speaks on the issues of relationships/friendships and the worries of individuals that surround your life and how they can affect you.
"You can only please the people around you as much as you can, however be warned, putting all your time and effort into it can kill you."
Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (13 January), scenestr is thrilled to premiere the music video for 'Johnny' today.
With a Blair Witch feel to the video, it finds Luis out in the woods alternating between dancing abstractly by himself and rapping to the camera. Enjoy.
