Premiere: Watch Little Panacea's New Music Video 'Myself'

'Myself' is the new single from Adelaide solo pop artist Little Panacea.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Last year saw Adelaide solo pop artist, Little Panacea release her debut single 'Still In Bloom'.

The moniker of singer-songwriter, music producer and sound engineer Adie Haines (who is also a guitarist in Twin Decoy), Little Panacea's follow-up single, 'Myself', arrived last month.

A song that tackles the issues that arise from a toxic relationship, 'Myself' finds Little Panacea exploring her palette of indie pop and electro as well as elements of soul. "I remember I was listening to a lot of Client Liaison when I did this song," Adie says.

"I'm also a massive Kimbra fan, so both of those things kind of influenced the feel of this track quite a bit.

"A heavy conversation with a friend of mine inspired this track," Adie adds. "She was ending a toxic relationship and I remember relating to what she was saying on a really deep level.

"I felt so compelled to write something about it because I don't think I had fully exorcised my own past relationship demons. It felt so cathartic to just let it all out and celebrate my current strength and state of mind."

Recorded in collaboration with producer-engineers Ryan Martin John (Seabass) and Mario Spate (MANE, Stellie), Little Panacea has also created an accompanying music video for 'Myself' that scenestr is stoked to premiere today. Enjoy.

"Kristoffer Lucia (Gutter-Pop Pictures) and I actually filmed a different film clip for this song," Little Panacea says, "and ended up re-shooting everything because we shot outdoors a lot and just didn't end up digging how fierce the sun was that day.

"It had all this story woven through it, but was still silly with the teddy bears instead of real people. Maybe one day I'll show it as some sort of b-side reel coz it was actually quite funny.

"We decided to use teddy bears because I wanted to take a light approach to talking about such a heavy topic (emotional abuse), but I kind of thought it was fitting as well because some of the emotional behaviours of an emotionally abusive and manipulative person can be quite detached and uncaring, much like the stare of inanimate teddy bear."
