An emerging Australian artist who relocated to Nashville earlier year pursuing career opportunities – and she's only 17 – Lily Grace's brand of energised country-pop music will have you moving in no time.
After opening for Vance Joy at The Riverstage in Brisbane and playing Tamworth Country Music Festival in the early part of 2022, the Gold Coast native also played Gympie Music Muster last year as well as winning the People's Choice Award at 2022 Gold Coast Music Awards (she was a finalist for Breakout Artist Of The Year).Since landing in Nashville, Grace has performed at Live On The Levee (West Virginia), Barefoot Country Music Festival (New Jersey) and Freedom Fest (Tennessee), and toured with the Davisson Brothers Band, in amongst doing radio interviews and television appearances.
Lily's newest release is the single 'Follow My Road'. Electrified country-pop that blazes with a sparkly energy, 'Follow My Road' bounds along with a cheeky yet earthy spirit that will sweep you up and place you on the dance floor for a joyful boogie.
Add Lily's exuberant vocals that welcome you in with warm, relaxed tones plus lyrics that implore you "to follow your heart", and 'Follow My Road' is an anthem for those who value their independence.
With the song already released, scenestr is stoked to premiere the song's official visualiser video today. Enjoy.
"'Follow My Road' is all about chasing down your dreams, doing whatever it takes to pave your own path," says Lily, "being fiercely independent, not letting anyone step in the way of your goals and not needing to be reliant on anyone else.
"It's important to be true to yourself, know your own values, attitudes and beliefs and prioritise those. Trust yourself, your emotions and be the captain of your own ship."
Given everything related to shutdowns and lack of travel the last few years, the recording of 'Follow My Road' allowed Grace to meet the musicians she's being collaborating with in real life.
"It was really cool to finally be in a room together. It was the first time I was able to meet these amazing session musicians in person, people that I've been working with over the last couple of years and who've played on my previous songs.
"We got to bring the sound together in real time, adding in sections of percussion in certain parts to develop the sound together; it was so much fun and definitely my best recording experience yet."
