After the release of their debut single 'The Game' in December, Port Macquarie rockers King Coyote return with their next release, 'Too High'.
With a sound sitting somewhere between the bluesy-sludge of The Black Keys and the psych-out grooves of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, 'Too High' showcases King Coyote as a young band moving upward at a rapid rate.
"Working on 'Too High' down in Bondi Junction with Rick Will was an eye opener," the band admit.
"[It was the] first time working with a engineer of that calibre; rad vibe and a lovely guy. Hard being back in Sydney to get something down to a schedule, keeping our heads down and avoiding debauchery is half the battle."
Last week, King Coyote supported Unwritten Law in Coffs Harbour; now the KC lads are packing up the tour van to support Adelaide punk rockers Grenadiers (click here to read our Feb 2018 interview with Grenadiers) in Byron Bay (23 February) before continuing to Brisbane to play Dank Vibes Festival (24 February).
"Our whole vibe is based around contrast, light and dark, more and less," King Coyote state.
"So Bondi Junction was a perfect place to record; flat out in the studio then out the front relaxing, talking trash and people watching. Like two worlds separated by one, old, expensive-as wall and a backpackers full of young travellers questioning why we do f#$% all, all day only to spend the whole night recording right under their rooms."
