Back with another dose of angsty, '90s flavoured, alt punk-rock is indie musician Jovi Skyler.
The Sydney artist's latest release, 'Evergreen', is an abrasive yet gnarly melodic two-minute ride of DIY punk that howls and squawks at a frenetic pace."'Evergreen' deals with being in a tumultuous relationship and how it can drain you with its ups and downs," Jovi says about the song's lyrical meaning.
scenestr is stoked to premiere the 'Evergreen' music video today. Enjoy.
"I made this psychedelic art music video to reflect an autobiographical memory," Jovi says, "of a tumultuous relationship from the past, full of youthful fervour and fun punk-rock energy.
"So my own personal experience inspired me in regards to the construction of 'Evergreen' and its visual representation.
"I tried to give it good vibes, but also a dark and chaotic sound to acknowledge the roller-coaster ride of it.
"I overlaid the videos and changed the colours, to match the purity of the track. I believe the music video captures the momentum of 'Evergreen' and drags the listener along for a visual experience of psychedelia.
"I reckon you can feel the Pixies, Nirvana, and Sonic Youth embellishments, meshed with my own dynamics, strange lyrics and disturbing twists. I guess my music represents my own unique weirdness in a way."
