With rich baritone vocals and unashamedly authentic lyrics, Australian singer-songwriter JNR delivers heartfelt country music influenced by an upbringing in Outback Australia and regular visits to Nashville, Tennessee.
The Brisbane-based musician first began performing in 2016 and has since performed, worked and collaborated with the likes of Vic Kena, Graeme Connors, 2014 Tamworth Star Maker winner Jared Porter, and Nashville-based award-winning producer-composer Michael Flanders.
Drawing inspiration from country icons such as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Steve Earle, JNR is ready to release his debut single 'Down Low' tomorrow (14 November). "I wrote 'Down Low' with Jared Porter and Nolan Wynne out of a discussion that we were having about misconceptions around what success is," JNR says.
"We sometimes think that 'making it' means living in the penthouse suite and drinking champagne, but as you get older it feels great to just get away from it all - technology, phones, society - and get out into the middle of nowhere to get back to what's real and what's important - people, nature and the simple pleasures of life.
"The song was literally written out of that lyric: 'high on life, on the down low!'."

"We had so much fun shooting the video for 'Down Low'," JNR adds. "I've worked as an extra on a set before where they've had 10 extras, 20 crew and catering etc. On ours for 'Down Low' we had two crew and six hours to coordinate and shoot at five locations.
"The locations were great and the rain stayed away on the day. Larissa (the lead actress) was great and really made the video, plus my buddy Milton kindly sat in for a couple of the scenes as well.
"Sometimes we forget how beautiful locations like Mount Tamborine and the Scenic Rim are, that are right outside our door!"
