Melbourne-based alternative singer-songwriter, Izzy Day has followed up her irresistibly smooth recent single 'Silence' with an accompanying music video that's equally enchanting.
With lyrics that are raw, genuine, and offering self-reflection, 'Silence' is a dreamily lush ballad that features hypnotic, broken-beat flavoured soul and beautifully moody indie-folk vibes."'Silence' relays vulnerable, challenging moments along the journey of love," Izzy says.
"Its melodic vibe carries you through, unmasking a paradox of emotions, between feelings of disconnection and deep longing."
Izzy has teamed with Vicky Jay of Drishti Studio to create the 'Silence' music video, which features dancer Kirilly Dawn and was filmed at a 100-year-old historic sugar-mill in the hinterland of northern NSW.
"Co-creating with Vicky was awe-inspiring, her dreamy creation captures intimate moments with a cinematic feel," Izzy says.
"Kirilly Dawn graced us with her embodied sensuous dance, nurturing the heart of the song through movement in an incredibly vulnerable way."
Ahead of the release tomorrow of the 'Silence' music video tomorrow, scenestr is pleased to premiere the clip today. Enjoy.
"Creating this piece for Izzy Day felt so natural and exciting," Vicky recalls. "With Kirilly expressing herself so eloquently through dance, mixed with the powerful words in 'Silence', the video really took on a life of its own.
"A story told through embodied movement; I loved every moment of creating this video."
Izzy Day launches 'Silence' at Some Velvet Morning (Melbourne) 13 May.
