Alternative-pop Adelaide trio, Fleur Green And The Keepers have unveiled the first taste of their debut album 'When The Tide Rushes In'.

‘Nadia’ brims with sweet and heavy melodies and a twist of 1960s French pop with healthy splashes of brass and xylophone; this could be the theme music of an Eastern European circus troupe.

"Nadia is a friend of mine and NIDA graduate that I met prior to her studies on the set of the Opera Australia production of 'La Boheme'," Fleur says.

"She was cast as a prostitute and I was cast as a Hitler Youth. We shared a dressing room and became great friends. Her lyrical name, her onstage character as a lady of the night and her own energy all helped inspire me to write this song."

"The song is based on the character Nadia played in the opera - the prostitute," Fleur continues.

"It tells her story as she walks alone to her refuge or place of business - or both. It eludes to what may be imagined by Nadia. How she copes with the life she has, surrounded by cretins and morons. She has a fixed gaze. She is complex. Yet she carries with her an alluring enigmatic energy."

'Nadia' will officially be released 30 September with a show at The Wheatsheaf (Adelaide); the band then launch their debut album, 'When The Tide Rushes In', at the Grace Emily Hotel (Adelaide) 4 November.
