Melbourne-based rockers Echo Del Tusker are releasing their new single 'Gold In The Silver' tomorrow (26 July), and scenestr is amped to be able to premiere the song and its video a day early!
In the band's first year on the music scene, they've already played dates with Rose Tattoo and Dallas Crane, toured in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australian, received international radio play, and more.
It all came together when Estelle Artois (lead vocals/guitar), Brendan Forward (guitar), Mick Quee (bass), and Jarrod Medwin (drums) found themselves musically single and unattached – all at once. Blend all their sounds, and you get Echo Del Tusker.
'Gold In The Silver' comes after their debut EP 'Words To Live By'. Check it out, exclusively here on scenestr, with its video below.
“'Gold In The Silver' is about being in a place in your life where you might actually be doing pretty well but are not able to realise it,” guitarist Brendan Forward says. “We can sometimes fall in the trap of looking to where we want to be, what we want to do/achieve or looking at what other people are doing, and we can lose sight of how good our own life really is.”
“What really stood out to me was the sentiment behind the lyrics to this song,” lead vocalist Estelle Artois adds. “That sometimes 'coming first' doesn't equate to 'winning'. That really hits home for me every time I sing it.”
