'Passionate about true crime docos, the Swannies, golf and sleep, I’ve been writing about music for 20-plus years. What I’ve learnt? There’s two types of music – good and bad.’

With close on 20-years experience in the music industry, Cairns-raised, Brisbane-based emcee Crooked White today releases his debut solo album, 'Confessions', a project more than two years in the making.

Best known for his regular gig fronting the much-loved Queensland hip hop and reggae outfit Schoolfight, Crooked's style has been described as laidback, combining effortless flows, technical word-play and solid hooks.

To celebrate the release of 'Confessions', Crooked White - who was announced this week as a Queensland Music Awards finalist in the Hip Hop / Rap category; an award Schoolfight have previously won - has dropped the 'fire-hot' new video clip for the single 'The 4th Beegee', which scenestr is stoked to premiere this morning. Ed's note: Full disclosure, I make a cameo in this clip; right at the start.

"I wanted to make an album that cats can play all day," Crooked says, "whether that be while snapping some beers with crew or chilling with the family... and I really feel like I nailed it.

"'Confessions' is a feel-good record and I hope peeps pick up what I'm putting down."

Working with Brisbane beatmaker AussieOzborn (DEFMENWALKING), Crooked has created a boom-bap classic, returning to the old-school style of exceptional jams, big beats and solid, story-based rhymes.

'Confessions' is available now across all digital platforms including Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp. Gedder dun.
