An easy-going country-pop ballad, 'Hummingbird' is the sophomore single from Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Courtney Keil.
Infusing a warmth throughout with a jovial, playful vibe, 'Hummingbird' was written during lockdown in 2020 and focuses on pursuing the positive things in life."There will always be reasons and circumstances that try to pull us down, (however) there is power in rising above these situations," Courtney says.
"If we make a conscious effort to spread love and positivity around instead, we can make the world a better place."
Building on the love and positivity the song promotes, Courtney has created an uplifting music video that also features a cute animated hummingbird.

"I had the pleasure of collaborating with the incredibly talented Duncan Toombs of the Filmery; not only has he won x7 CMAA Golden Guitars for his creative efforts but he is a down to earth and a great guy to work with," Courtney adds.
"Our aim for this video was to create a fun, positive and uplifting clip. There is too much negativity in the world especially after the challenges of 2020, so we wanted to leave viewers with a smile on their face. Duncan had the great idea to add some animation, in the form of a little hummingbird to bring the clip to life.
"It was all hands on deck to create and perfect our 'in the clouds' set. I had the wonderful opportunity to have the gorgeous Lee Hanly-Bailey onsite heading up hair and make-up styling keeping me looking fresh as a daisy for the full day of shooting."
Courtney Keil launches 'Hummingbird' at The Espy (Melbourne) 18 February.
