Premiere: Watch Cking's New Music Video 'No Snakes' (feat. Dilz)

Cking's (right) newest jam is 'No Snakes' featuring Dilz.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Brisbane-based hip hop artist Cking's newest release is 'No Snakes', featuring NZ rapper Dilz.

Intense, foreboding hip hop productions are complemented by passionate and emotive verses about trust lost and the cleansing of those that have wronged.

Influenced by the likes of Linkin Park, Post Malone and '90s/ early 2000 rap, Cking and Dilz lean into their inner-gangster selves in the music video for 'No Snakes'.

We find the pair on a rural property joining a gathering of other nefarious types as they 'execute' those who have wronged them by using motifs of 'thief', 'extortion', 'war crimes' and 'abuser' before a twist in the narrative reveals a different ending.

Ahead of the song's release tomorrow (22 October), scenestr is thrilled to premiere the 'No Snakes' music video today. Enjoy.

"We filmed out in an outback Ipswich location," begins Cking, "and the owners had a whole heap of animals running around, like small dogs (who we gave a bandanna), pigs, sheep and alpacas so that was cool.

"In addition to the snake - brought and owned by the blue-haired hostage, Krystal Kemp."

Although the clip presents a world where evil resides, once the cameras stopped rolling Cking says the set was a place of fun.

"Everyone at the shoot had a really fun time and between takes there was always something to laugh about," Cking says.

"The make-up artist (red-haired hostage) insisted on showing us how she could pop her shoulders and get out of the handcuffs behind her.

"Oh, and there was actually a ball & gag on someone's rear-view mirror and we didn't realise until we were actually shooting and it was too late, but I don't know if you can see it in any of the shots.

"To date, this has probably been the most involved music video we've ever produced and there's definitely no way I could have done it myself; we all had a great time doing it so it didn't feel like work at all."
